Testimonials after this weekend of the Goddess of Compassion chi kung:
* « Crazy: my belly is completely deflated and my shoulders totally relaxed. » I can measure even better the effect this weekend had on me!
It is all there.
No long speeches are needed when someone feels directly in their body what has just happened.
Sometimes a single testimonial is enough to tell what a practice can make you feel.
And a few lines later, he also wrote to me:
* Once again, a huge thank you for this weekend. What a joy and a pleasure to find this chi kung again, which still has such an effect on me.
We did it again this evening with Claire. It is indeed not quite the same when we practise it alone as when we were all together under your guidance, but I am already happy to be able to make this practice part of my daily life (after one day, can we already speak of daily life? ).
In any case, the heart and the body are joyful and want more. The head is still busy trying to understand…
This little moment of coming back to myself had an incredible effect on me. I can still feel it: a suspended moment, a little piece of eternity within reach, which reminded me of childhood flavours where time no longer has a hold, where only the moment, peaceful, simple and joyful, fills all the space.
Gratitude.
It is a set of movements that is particularly good for general health, balancing energy deficits and excesses in the body and bringing renewal, regeneration and calm.
When the body breathes again: discovering Kwan Yin Chi Kung
What if a few hours of practice were enough to find space in your body, calm in your head and a deep feeling of renewal?
There are practices we discover with our head.
And then there are those we truly understand by living them.
This chi kung of the Goddess of Compassion belongs to the second category.
It is a set of slow, flowing and graceful movements that invites us to come back to the body, to the breath and to that quality of presence that is so precious in our often very busy lives.
In the Qi Gong tradition, movement, breathing, attention and posture are closely linked. The practice thus seeks to encourage a more harmonious relationship between body and mind, without forgetting the heart (the Emperor!).
But beyond words, there is above all the experience.
And that is what I love to pass on.
A practice that makes room
As the movements unfold, something unties.
Body tensions can release. Breathing becomes deeper. The body regains mobility. The mind, too, gradually loses its agitation.
We are not trying to « succeed » at a choreography.
Rather, we learn to listen, to return to a more natural state of ourselves.
Listening to what is happening inside. Feeling our support. Letting the breath accompany the movement. Perceiving the tensions and the spaces being created. And gradually coming back to something simpler.
In the Taoist energy tradition, we speak of the circulation of chi and of balance between the different qualities of energy. For the practitioner, this can translate very concretely into a feeling of relaxation, vitality, grounding or coming back to oneself.
This is also what makes chi kung so rich: it is not just gentle exercise.
It is a practice that combines movement, breathing and attention.
An experience to share
Of course, the movements can be repeated alone at home.
It is even a lovely way to gradually bring the practice into your daily life.
But practising together brings something different.
There is the presence and support of the group. The collective breathing. The shared silence. The energy that builds up during the session. And above all, the guidance.
One participant told me exactly that after the course:
« It is indeed not the same when we practise it alone as when we were all together under your guidance. »
That is precisely what I love about teaching.
I do not just pass on a sequence of movements.
I seek to accompany each person in discovering what happens through these movements.
Passing on means guiding without doing it for the other person
In my courses and classes, I attach great importance to the quality of teaching.
It is not about asking everyone to reproduce a form perfectly.
It is about allowing everyone to feel it.
I like to take the time to explain, to show, to correct when necessary, but also to leave enough space for each person to find their own way of inhabiting the movement.
Chi kung is accessible to different ages and levels of practice, and it can be taught gradually and adapted to each person’s abilities.
That is why no previous experience is needed to come and discover a practice.
You come with your body as it is that day.
With any tiredness you may feel.
With your tensions.
With your energy of the moment.
And you simply start where you are. As you are, too!
A suspended moment
Another testimonial I received after this weekend particularly touched me:
« This little moment of coming back to myself had an incredible effect on me. I can still feel it: a suspended moment, a little piece of eternity within reach… »
Perhaps this is, in the end, what I love most about these gatherings.
Creating a space where, for a few hours or a few days, there is nothing to produce.
Nothing to prove.
Nothing to achieve.
Simply being there.
Moving.
Breathing.
Feeling.
And gradually finding again the feeling of being fully present to oneself.
Chi kung as a meeting with yourself
Many of us spend our days in our heads.
Thinking about what needs to be done.
Anticipating.
Organising.
Answering.
Sometimes rushing without even realising it.
Chi kung offers another direction.
Coming down from the head into the body.
Returning to the breath.
Inhabiting our sensations again.
Taking the time to feel.
And sometimes discovering that we did not need to look very far for what we needed.
Regular practice can contribute to relaxation, body awareness, balance, flexibility and a better quality of presence. It also allows us to strengthen our connection with nature and its elements within us and all around us.
What if you simply came to try it?
You do not need to know what chi kung is to come and practise. It comes quite naturally.
You do not need to be flexible.
You do not need to be in any particular physical condition.
And above all, you do not need to « know how ».
All you need is the wish to discover.
In my classes, courses and workshops, I offer different forms of chi kung, each with its own world, movements and particular qualities.
Some are more dynamic.
Others are gentler and more meditative.
Some invite us to work more on grounding and the structure of the body, others on fluidity, breathing or inner awareness, towards high-level learning…
But they all have one thing in common:
they invite us to come back to ourselves.
So, if you feel like discovering this practice, I invite you to come and experience it rather than trying to imagine it.
Because chi kung is hard to explain with words.
It is understood with the body; it speaks to the whole being.
And perhaps at the end of the session, you too will find yourself thinking:
« I don’t know exactly what happened… but I feel really good. »
I look forward to accompanying you on this path of practice, presence and renewal.
